About Us

Supporting our community through compassion and care for those facing homelessness and hardship.

A man bends down to offer something to a person sitting on the ground, wrapped in a blanket and wearing a beanie. The scene is set on a modern pedestrian bridge with a view of a grand domed building in the background. Other pedestrians walk by, some paying attention while others are preoccupied.

Non-Conduit

Policy

It is a requirement of section 30-270(2) of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth) that an entity on the Register of Charitable Organisations (ACNC) must have a policy of not acting as a mere conduit for the donation of money or property to other organisations, bodies or persons.

This Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds policy meets that requirement

This applies to all Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds, volunteers, employees, contractors and Board members.

Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds will ensure it is not directed by any donor to act as a conduit by donating money or property to other organisations, bodies or persons.

Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds will ensure it will not act as a collection agency for tax-deductible donations intended by a donor to be passed on to another organisation or person.

Any allocation of funds or property to other persons or organisations will be made under the established purposes of Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds. The donor's preference will not determine it.

This Policy does not apply to Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds if and when Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds, within its principle statutory objectives, decide to pass funds or property to another entity to carry on activities that are within the governing body scope of service.

Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds Principle statutory objectives support people in vulnerable situations living in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and surrounding areas.

We provide hot meals, food hampers, and other items of need to a person/s living in rough situations, whether in the bush or car living rough or those who “couch surf”, as well as to homes where individuals and families can’t make ends meet. We offer access to social support and physical and mental health.

Our primary aim is to minimise harm to our population and assist those we serve to reach their full potential.
